Live Tweeting- #KUWTK

I chose to use #KUWTK as my live tweeting hashtag.  This hashtag stands for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the very popular TV show on E!.  I chose this hashtag because it is one of my shows even though I wish it wasn’t.  The tweets I found were mainly from users commenting about what was currently happening in the show.

It is obvious that the main people that watch Keeping up with the Kardshians are women.  These women follow this TV show and then tweet their feelings about the show and what is currently happening or what happened during the show.  As you can see, sometimes the tweets are happy about watching the show and what is happening and some are angry or annoyed.  For example, @ConroyEmily tweeted like she was excited to watch the show while @bangbangnicole tweeted about how she was over Rob.  These people tweet about the Kardashian family like they know them and everything that goes on in their life other than what is shown on television.   An intersectional lens might help us better understand the viewer’s comments by thinking about the reasoning behind some of the comments.  A lot of the nice comments could be coming from the user’s fantasy of having the same life as the Kardashians.  A lot of the judgemental comments could also be coming from secret jealousy or just plain disgust for the way the family handles themselves.  Most of these tweets are about the Keeping up with the Kardasian’s season finale which is most likely why there are more emotional tweets.
